The Bug Bite

I'm not normally an alarmist but sometimes I can obsess over the smallest thing.

Case in point.....I've been working outside a lot lately and I came in the other evening and noticed

a big red bite at the bottom of my shin area.

Then all of sudden I've decided that it hurts and looks swollen.

My poor husband comes home from work and just as soon as he sits down I plop my leg in his lap and say "you need to look at this....something bit me."

He is so concerned......I can tell by how he never quits looking at the television....and he squints his eyes like you can barely see it (he must be blind because it's huge!) and he says "probably an ant bite."

Well!!  I say quite loudly in an exasperated tone "It's NOT an ant bite! I know what an ant bite looks like!"

He's still trying to watch t.v.....and I say "feel it.....I think it has fever in it"

Nothing.....nada......I don't think he even heard me.

So I'm limping around and  I imagine that I feel the whole area is swollen and is that bruising around it?

I limp to the kitchen to find some neosporin  to keep the infection from spreading and HE has the nerve to say "hey, if you're in the kitchen could you bring me some tea?"

Ohhhhhh......if he could have seen the look.....

So later after we've gone to bed and he has not asked ONE time about my leg I finally roll away from him and mumble......"if I die in my sleep you can tell them about my bug bite."

And today?...you ask?........the bug bite completely disappeared.......it probably grew inward and is festering beneath my skin.......so if I die.......
