Happy Thanksgiving!

As I run around on this very cold day, cleaning the warm and cozy house,

getting abundant food prepared for tomorrow..

thinking about how good it will be to spend time with all the family...

eating too much and laughing over "remember when" stories....

I can't help but think "are there people in our own community that will be alone this holiday?

Or maybe not alone but with not enough food to feed their own family? Or maybe not even have heat?"

I wish I knew....I would like to think that I would seek them out and invite them in to our own celebration......

or make sure they had what they needed.

We are all so very blessed and I hope each of you will take a moment to think if you know of anyone that has these needs.

I pray that each of you will have a safe, warm and Happy Thanksgiving!

A State Divided!

Well it's that time of year!

I can feel the excitement brewing!

It's all you see on facebook already!

Thanksgiving?

No.....but we are thankful and we will celebrate.

But I'm talking about.......

The Iron Bowl!!!!

It's a state divided!

When you are born you must declare....

Alabama or Auburn!

We have already decided that we will try not to talk about it at Thanksgiving.

Because we have some traitors in the family...lol.

These ecards will be all over facebook....

back and forth....

the unfriend button will be used.

It's really a shame to divide your state, but divided it is!

And most of us aren't the type to pull for the other team when they are playing other states.

No......doesn't happen.

I'm so glad that my hubby and I agree....

I think some couples have a hard time...

And this year.....

Wow!!

So much is on the line for both teams!

It will be our super bowl!

We know that everyone will be home and together for Thanksgiving

and we also know that everyone will be watching the Iron Bowl on Saturday!

I know this may seem silly to most of you but this is a tradition

that we all grew up with.

It is a part of our childhood as much as

birthday parties and Bugs Bunny.

So I decided to go ahead and write this post early so you will

know that our week will be very exciting with friends and family

for Thanksgiving and the game.

Maybe I will have time to do an after Thanksgiving post

but let's face it.....

I may be taping my ankles and putting black gunk under my eyes....:)

Happy Thanksgiving!

and

Be Still....

Whoops!

Whoops!!!!

Somebody dropped the Nilla wafers and they somehow opened (somehow)

and now they will be stale before next week so

somebody doesn't want to be wasteful because

somebody's mom said it was bad to be wasteful

so...............

crunch.....crunch...

somebody is such a good girl...:)

Coopville Diaries - episode 11

Yes...it is time!

Time for another episode of....

Coopville Diaries!!!
(dumdumdum)

This week it's all about this girl.......Lucy.

She is one crazy hen.

She marches to the beat of her own drummer.

The rest of the hens follow 2 steps behind Rod Stewart.....

she stares at him eye to eye.

The other chickens sleep in the coop...

she sleeps on the front porch....

I heard a racket at 12:00 one night and I thought something was attacking her...

I ran outside in my nightgown and she was in the front yard just fussing and eating grass.

And then I get a phone call the other day.

A friend of mine said that she drove by my house and she saw a chicken on the edge of

the road across the street from me.

The first thing I asked her was....."Was she red?"

The friend replied...."yes...yes she was.  She was just sitting there watching the cars go by."

So I knew I had to have a talk with Lucy.

I walk around looking for her and then I heard singing.

"I want to fly like an eagle...
to the sea
fly like an eagle
let my spirit carry me"

I say...."Lucy.......hey....Lucy!"

"I want to fly like an eagle.." she's still singing

LUCY!!

Bkok....what?!

Lucy...I need to talk to you.

Do you think you can focus for two minutes?

Lucy: " yes....bokbokbok....what is it?"

Me: "Well a friend told me that she saw you on..."

Lucy:  "BOK! A BUG! Did you see a bug? I know I saw a bug....he's in here somewhere."

LUCY!!!

I'm trying to ask you something!

Did you go across the road the other day?

Lucy:  " well I ummmm......might have...ummmm...oh my wing is dirty."
"I need to straighten out these feathers."

LUCY!!

You are a chicken....you don't need to be near the road!

I can't believe I'm even going to ask this...but....

Why did you, Lucy, a chicken, cross the road?

Lucy: " I know....I know...ohh...I know!!!

To get to the other side!!!"

Bokbokbokbokbokbokbok!!!!

Me:  "that's it!! I'm going inside!"

Lucy: "why did the chicken cross the ocean?"
"to get to the other tide!"
Bokbokbokbokbok

"where are chicks born?"
"Chick-ago!"
Bokbokbokbokbok

"Hey!..where are you going?"

And that concludes another episode of.....

Coopville Diaries!!!

Tune in next week to see if Lucy is prescribed Prozac....

Hello My Name Is......

Hello, my name is regret
I’m pretty sure we have met
Every single day of your life
I’m the whisper inside
That won’t let you forget

Hello, my name is defeat
I know you recognize me
Just when you think you can win
I’ll drag you right back down again
‘Til you’ve lost all belief

Oh, these are the voices. Oh, these are the lies
And I have believed them for the very last time

I am no longer defined
By all the wreckage behind
The one who makes all things new
Has proven it’s true
Just take a look at my life

Hello, my name is child of the one true King
I've been saved, I've been changed, I have been set free
"Amazing Grace" is the song I sing
Hello, my name is child of the one true King

"Hello, My Name Is" is a song by Matthew West.

And I know that I have posted it on here before but this song just hits me deep in my soul.

I woke up this morning heavy hearted.

Life in general has been tough lately and then yesterday a six year old child from our town

was killed in a boating accident.

He was with his grandfather, who is not much older than I am.

I can't imagine.

The grandfather's back is broken and it will heal but I'm not sure his heart ever will.

So, for some reason, I was determined to get up early and capture a sunrise this morning.

It is harder to capture than you may think.

I drove through downtown and on some back roads.

No sunrise...it was blocked by buildings or trees.....

and I'm still thinking of all the sadness we have experienced lately....

personally....

as a town....

as a nation...

and I round a curve in the road and there it was....

and guess what song came on my radio....

Hello, my name is child of the one true King
I've been saved, I've been changed, I have been set free
"Amazing Grace" is the song I sing
Hello, my name is child of the one true King

2 Corinthians 4:16-18  So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.

Friends, Fire and Facebook Fun

Well it's cold tonight and I'm loving it!

There's just something about being warm and cozy inside when it's cold outside.

(a sneak peak at my remodeled living room....more to come later...almost finished)

The fire is flickering and the lamps are on...

the cat is curled at my side...

Did you watch the CMT awards last night?

They were great.

Do you get on facebook and discuss every little thing with all of your friends as it is happening?

I did....and it was so much fun!

I mostly hated on Carrie Underwood because she is so ding dang perfect!

I mean I can't find anything wrong with her.....she probably even owns cute chickens!

Ugggg!!

I said things like...

If she would gain a little weight she wouldn't get blown away....ha!

and I posted this

Hey Carrie!! I bet you're not eating one of these right now.....score!!!!

And then I got started on the oatmeal cake puns....(still on facebook)

You got to know when to hold em....know when to fold em......know when to walk away..uggg....wish someone had told me that before the oatmeal cake...

I then saw a commercial about this and had to post....

"Shape wear danger" coming up on the news tonight.......I knew them dang things were dangerous.....I can't breathe in them......they don't leave any room for an oatmeal cake or two....

You see I'm still sticking with the oatmeal cake theme...:)

And finally (I'm sure all my friends were grateful) I ended the night with this...

I'll leave y'all alone now......goodnight all!!! you know an oatmeal cake looks like a wagon wheel......

Yes....Darius Rucker was singing that song as I posted.

I tell you I was on one last night....I don't know why...lol.

If you liked all that maybe you should friend me on facebook...like my blog friend Debby Ray did!!

Except I don't know how to add the facebook add thingie on my blog....

Anyway...that's what I did last night!

And tonight I was cooking supper and I noticed this extra special "spice" in my kitchen.

Oh my dear hubby would have been upset if I had gotten it mixed up with my other spices....heehee.

Who else but me would have freeze dried crickets...:))) a chicken treat...:)

Well that should get you caught up with me.....

What have you been up to?

Coopville Diaries - episode 10

It's time for another episode of..........

Coopville Diaries!!!!!

dumdumdum!

"Let's go girls!" Rod Stewart crows....

"Let's hide those eggs good!"

"heehee....that woman human will never find them unless she looks real good......and

to tell the truth she needs the exercise.....cluck cluck cluck cluck.(laughing).

"someone needs to tell Rod that he is not that funny" Millie grumbled

"I'm feeling puffy today....do I look puffy?"

"Let me see Millie..."

"nooo (ahem)...you don't look puffy at all." said Aunt Bea
"y'all don't tell her.....have you ever heard the saying "mad as a wet hen?"

"You don't mess with a puffy hen either."

"Come on girls....I will find some good bugs in this stump!"

"Because....I .....am......awesome!" Rod crows

"gracious he has a hairy butt" Aunt Bea thought to herself.

Rod leads the ladies to check on the dog food which they love!

"stupid, lazy dogs!!!" Rod grumbled

"they didn't leave even a morsel of dog food!"

The girls were annoyed... "oooohhh....look at them....they can't even move."

"okay girls....we need to go back to the picket line."

"You know what month it is."

Happy Turkey Month!!
