Sister to the Rescue!

My sister's son got married Saturday.

We had to travel about 4 hours to get there but I went up the day before to help her with the rehearsal supper.

When did it become the "thing" to decorate the rehearsal supper?

I thought I was going to get off easy having two boys but it's just my luck now the rehearsal supper is a big deal.

When I got married....many moons ago.....we just did a little practice, fed them some food and sent them on their way......easy...peasy.

So my sister was stressed...she claims that I am her decorator and she needed me.

The bad part was that I could not go help until the day of the supper......ya...

So we talked back and forth, back and forth, back and ..you get the picture.

He is a HUGE baseball nut....was a player and now a coach, so we had our theme.

But truly we did not want to go to too much expense and we wanted to keep it fairly simple and try to keep it from looking like a little boy's birthday party.

I decided at the last moment to make a LOVE banner and as I walked out the door I grabbed two old window frames that I had painted red that was on my front porch.

So here is what we threw together at the last moment.

He cut a baseball open and that's how he proposed to her.

Friends signed the bat for the couple.

There was a chalk board at the front of the room so we put Bride's Team and Groom's Team and listed the bridesmaids and groomsmen....but it didn't show up in my photo.

Me and my sister..

We had a great time and I wish my nephew and his new bride much happiness.

How creative! My great nephew is 6....and I am going to tell my niece to come look at this because in just 15 short years, he may be getting married....and this would be great for him because he is a HUGE baseball fan....whoever marries him better be, too! Too cute, too cute!

My son is getting married next month. Got any ideas for a rehearsal dinner for someone who loves playing video games?

Thanks Leave it to Davis! There is no telling what they will be doing for rehearsal suppers in 15 years...lol. Now, the video gamer...hmmm...that's a tough one...on the table that we put "what a catch"...you can say "no longer a player"....lol...that's all I got..:)
good luck!

Splendid job, Lisa. You’ve been a traveling fool this spring. I’m so sorry I missed meeting you at Art in Park this year. We don’t go every year BUT if I’d known you were going to be there it would have been nice to meet you. BTW you spruce up nice ~ smile.
