Third Of July

The morning started out promising....

A little coffee....a cozy corner.....my devotion.

Then I check the weather.

Which isn't so bad for this week...most days have been 97 and 98.

Plus I'm not planning on going outside.

In walks hubby....

He says..

I'm working in the shop...I have to get these orders finished.

The man delivered the sod..........and I can't help you.

Me:  blink, blink.....

It needs to be put out today....he says.

But........

what about my nearly severed finger?  I say.

He walks over to me and I'm thinking he is going to examine my (nearly severed) finger

and he lovingly says

"here's some gloves."

And just now he walks up with a big box of peas and

at least he had the nerve to sheepishly say

"these really need to be blanched and put up today."

Oh my gosh! I would tell you how hard I'm laughing, but I think you'll give me the #justkilledareader!!!

I've laid sod before after I had given birth to a very large baby just a few weeks before. We put the baby in his little bouncy bed in the shade of the porch, and I got so nasty, sweaty and filthy! And get this . . . the now 18 year old baby says he remembers seeing me lay sod!

Bless your heart!

Well, I have never laid sod (and I never plan to)...but it don't look like much fun ...especially in 90+ heat with an almost severed finger! Happy 3rd of July! The 4th surely must be better!

So, I'll just say - you deserve a holiday! Take tomorrow off!

Oh, and I've laid sod before and said it was the hardest job I've ever done.

I feel your pain. My husband works in heart surgery so anything less than that is nothing. Oh yeah and pregnancy is not an illness. :) Angela

You poor thing...you need a very long vacation I think. Work, work, work, that's all you do. My hubby would love to have you around that's for sure. Hope your finger gets better and maybe tomorrow you can rest. :) I'm finally back blogging again after a long time...I put a new one up a day or two ago so you can see what I've been up to. Have missed you and how you make me smile. I've got a lotta' catchin' up to do ... while you rest. :)

You are energetic, strong and persistent, and this, too, shall pass...I say to MYSELF, when assisting the contractor/farmer/gardener/master BBQer, likes to give orders 'commissioner', a.k.a. my husband!! If I can do it, so can YOU!;))

Thanks for the chuckle!
