We Are Family!

I'm so sorry that I haven't been on here in a while but things have been crazy busy here lately!

One of those things  that we did was have a family reunion.

My mom is one of five girls that was raised by their dad because their mom died when they were very young.

So therefore the sisters were extremely close growing up.

When I was young the "sisters" always got together every weekend to cook and play rook.

So I grew up with all of my cousins.

We had so much fun....we would play kick the can, king of the mountain (they had a dirt bank),

baseball, dodge ball, kill the man with the ball...lol....I was tough...had to be...lol.

Those days bonded us for life.

But everyone grew up and had families and moved away and it's been 20+  years since we have had a reunion.

The oldest sister (Aunt Betty) died so my Dad is sitting in her chair.

There was a memory table honoring those that were no longer with us.

And we had a family tree.

We had a great time.

There is nothing like family.

We felt like we were kids again.

And to prove it these 40 and 50 year olds played some volleyball.
I named our teams  Butts  VS  Guts! lol...it was girls against boys..lol

It was so much fun but..........I couldn't move for 3 days!

I was so sore!

It was a great day and there is no substitute for family.

We must cherish our loved ones while they are still with us.

I love my family!

Oh...I'm right there with you sister...I have seven brothers and sisters and it had only been two years since I had seen them when we had our reunion this summer. I miss them something terrrible but I am so thankful for facebook! I have become way closer to some of my nieces and nephews because of it! Our parents have both been gone now for several years and we know that they would want us to keep getting together. There is NOTHING like having a loving family! So glad you had a fun time at your reunion :)
