Dream, Reality and The Good Parts

I know that my title is strange, right?

But this pretty much summed up my day.

I woke up to a beautiful day, the sun was streaming through the trees and we have a brand new day to make wonderful.

Oh, the possiblities of such a day.

I was going to clean my house from top to bottom.
Banish all weeds and undergrowth from my yard.
Maybe bathe the pets and wash my car.

Of course the world would be rosy also.

People would drive by and blow their horns and yell "your yard looks great!".

There would be no bad news on t.v. today.  How can life not be grand on such a beautiful day?

And then I see this..

No, not the trans fat free thing,  that's suppose to be a good thing...I'm talking about the sign at the top of the door.

NO HOODIES

NO MASKS

Now I completely get the no masks request but no hoodies???

What do the hoodies do?  I love to wear hoodies.

I guess maybe you can hide your face if you are robbing the place?

 It just makes me sad.

It makes me sad for the people who own the store.

It makes me sad for the people who are so lost that they rob a store.

It makes me sad for hoodies.

It just makes me sad.

And there went the sunshine from my day.

The trans fat free oil was good but it just couldn't overcome my new mood.

I tried to get my mojo back.

I watched t.v. and they didn't get the memo about only airing good news.

The wind picked up and the sun went behind the clouds.

When evening came we were invited to a cookout but I really didn't want to go.

But at the last minute we went and I'm so glad that we did.

Here is where "the good parts" come in.

Tell me........how can you not have a happy heart going on a hay ride with these precious children?

The answer...........you can't.

Although I may have scared them some with my enthusiasm.

So dream, but don't expect life to be perfect.

Just make sure you are present for the perfect parts.

A Few Of My Favorite "Things"

My Bible......I love my Bible.

My new chicken earrings...

My shelves that my Dad built me....

My framed puzzles that my husband,  the boys and I  put together at Christmas when they were young.

I love, love my chicken coop that my guys built me!

And.....my Ipad....I know this is very superficial but I can't help it, I love it!  Plus my boys gave it to me for Christmas!

So there you have it, just a few of my favorite "things".

I put "things" in quotes because I'm just talking about material things.

And of course everything that my loved ones have ever given me I love and cherish (except maybe that striped, fuzzy, high necked sweater I got for Christmas, sorry Mom).

I could do 100 more posts on things that I love (and I may).

 What things do you love?

Signs

I began walking (again) my two mile little trek this morning.

I'm trying to get back in shape   to being able to walk without huffing and puffing the whole entire time.

I decided to take my camera (you can already tell  this is not going to be power walking) and take some photos.

I also spend most of my time praying while I walk.  It is a perfect opportunity to be in God's creation uninterrupted and I think it is a perfect time to thank him for all of his blessings.

So as I'm praying and walking  I start noticing signs all around me.

This way.....yes Lord?

Stop....

 yes Lord?

 yes Lord?

 yes Lord.......I understand.

Lovely October

October is here!

I woke up to a clean, fresh day.

It had rained through out the night but when morning came the sun started shining.

And now, oh it is glorious!

There is dappled shade all through the yard.  A slight breeze, seventy degree weather with a few leaves falling.

I decided to take a walk through the yard.

Of course I had to have a few pumpkins and mums sitting on the porch.  It wouldn’t be fall without them.

My climbing rose is still blooming some and the Coleus looks great!

I have a huge Rose of Sharon bush/tree that is just started to bloom.  I can’t wait until it is full of blooms.

I love the birdhouses just waiting on nests.

My Mom gave me this but I don’t know what it is. Do you?

And of course I can’t walk without my faithful companions. This is not all of them.  The little dog is Pook (I know, all I have to say is my husband named him), the big dog is Bucky, he is so sweet and the kitty is Sambo.

I hope you get a chance to get outside and enjoy this beautiful fall day. Don’t forget to breathe deep and thank God for a new day!
