Christmas Decorating at Work

Well what do you do when you work all the time?

You use up all your Christmas decorating mojo at work

and that's why you don't have even one Christmas sprinkle

at your house.

So let's see what's going on at Tucker ATV shall we?

I made the guys build me a front porch in our lawn mower/ home section.

I have loved decorating it!

Meanwhile my front porch at home looks like this.

They want to know where the Christmas treats are!

Back at Tucker ATV I have put out several trees surrounded by my woodland creatures.

While working on the computer (cough cough) I found this!

The Shepherd on the Search

What a great idea!  It's like the elf on the shelf but the shepherd

is looking for the baby Jesus.

Isn't that a great idea?!

And now that I'm off the subject of Christmas decorating let me tell you what happened to

us the other day.

Someone paid over $4000 in $1.00 gold coins and 50 cent pieces and $2.00 bills!!!

He asked my husband if we would take it and he said sure and then brought it to me and my

co-worker to count. (dagger eyes)

Thank goodness someone brought oreo bites or we wouldn't have made it...:)

Back to Christmas decorating.....oh wait that's a pic of me at work.

Welcome to Tucker ATV....may I help you?

Don't I sound professional.....if they only knew....bahahaha!

I did put this sign up to warn them.

Don't you love my chicken nesting boxes....they hold my tshirts...:)

You knew I was going to put my chicken theme in there somewhere didn't you?

I decorated the boat.....lol...yes a boat!  That's a whole other story on how

I went to a flea market and called Shannon and told him I bought a rotten

boat.  Sheesh...who knew he was having such a hard time seeing my "vision"

of the store......heehee.  And it didn't help that they had to mount it high

up on the wall.........vision- people!!  Focus!!

The deer had to have hats and scarves....:)

They are looking at the boat......they don't "get the vision" either....

And then came the 12' tree!

That was an entire day in Hobby Lobby to buy enough ornaments for the tree.

"Yes, dear we HAD to have these ornaments......if you have a 12' tree then you

have to have a ton of ornaments.  How important was it for us to make a profit

this year anyway??????"

I didn't even show y'all the Man Cave area.  Oh this was so much fun!

I need to get better pics.  The Man Cave has a swing in it and a tire wall and a couch etc.

I will get better pics of the entire store and do a post on it later.

So now you know why my house has nothing Christmasy in it at all.

I'm jingled out!

So from all of us at Tucker ATV we wish you a

VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

It's Okay To Lie To Chickens But Not To Your Husband

So I leave work early....

I give Shannon all kinds of excuses why.

I need to cook supper, go to the bank, buy groceries and let the chickens in the coop.

I did none of those things.

I went straight to Cato's to look around.

I am NOT suppose to buy another thing....

closet is overflowing, credit card is crashing blah blah blah.

So I decide if I just slip in there ever so quietly, keep a low profile so no one will even see me

and there will be no chance of Shannon finding out (that means no tattling you stick together evil men)

Of course the store is full and as soon as I walked in I stealthily eased my way

around the racks that are right up front in the windows....

no one can see me from the parking lot because they hang those giant poster ads

that take up the whole window.

The next thing I hear is Craaaaassshhhh!!!!!!

I'm not sure if it was my tiny body (eye roll) or my tiny purse (eye roll)

that managed to pull the entire giant poster  crashing down all around me!!

I freeze as every person in there stops in their tracks and stares at me.

 So much for being invisible.

I apologize and apologize as I'm backing my way out the store ...

if I can just make it back to my car...

maybe no one even knew who I was...

as soon as I step outside a car goes by and someone yells HEY LISA TUCKER!!

My progress on the "Cabbage Soup Diet"

I started the "Cabbage Soup" diet yesterday.

I've done this diet before, a loooooong time ago and it really worked.

But I am much different than I was back then.

The body and the willpower is much weaker and the fat cells have "grown" in strength

and in number.

So yesterday all I could have was fruit (except bananas) and the cabbage soup and water.

I can do this!

I love fruit and don't mind the cabbage soup.

I can do this!!

The morning was the hardest for me....I love me some coffee and

a little some'n some'n like pop tarts, muffins etc. to go with it.

So when I tried to take a bite of pineapple my taste buds went into retreat mode.

The organic Fuji apple made the cut for breakfast and I was okay.

I wish I liked cantaloupe or grapefruit but nooooo....that would be too easy.

So I made it to lunch.....was so ready for some cabbage soup.

10:45 is not too early for lunch is it????

I didn't think so!!!

So out came the soup and as a side I got some of those oranges or

are they tangerines...the ones they call "cuties".

Well I know why they call them "cuties"....

it's because it's so cute how Lisa can eat them in two bites!

Well really one bite but it ain't so cute when all the juice gushes out and runs

down your chin....

and your husband walks in and you're suppose to be working and you

can't answer the phone because your mouth is so full of orange...

(not that that happened or anything)

So I made it through the work day and I was almost home (a thirty minute drive)

and I almost wrecked when I realized that I left all of my cabbage soup

at work!!

Oh nooooooooo.........only fruit for supper!!!! :(

By this time my head is pounding!!

I'm not sure if it's a caffeine headache or just lack of food headache.

I slowly trudge into the kitchen and just stare at the pineapple, grapes and oranges

and I try to eat some grapes and they were pretty sour

and then I found the most amazing fruit everrrrr!!!!!!!!!

2 pieces of toast!!

with cheese!!!

Headache went away immediately and I was my usual happy, happy self!

Today is all vegetable day.

I am sure that toast is considered a vegetable also....:)

Have a great day!!

The Struggle

How can I be 50 years old and still struggling with how and what I want my life to be?

How can I be 50 years old?....lol.

But do you struggle with that?

You know.....am I wasting my hours here on earth?

I know we have to work..(most of us)...and sleep...

but that still leaves 6 to 8 hours more or less a day.

I find myself getting home from work and crashing on the couch

and vegging out in front of the television.

This is unacceptable but the flesh is weak.....and tired....and wants to watch The Voice.

And then I decide that I'm going to list what things need to be accomplished.

Clean house

Do laundry

Exercise

Bible study

Cook

Take care of animals

Spend time with husband

Read

Take a bath

Talk with friends

Visit parents

Shop

Write a book

Pay bills

Go to church

Eat healthy

Can this be done????????

I become overwhelmed and flop back on the couch and inhale a pop tart while my eyes glaze over

 during Project Runway.

I am not a Type A personality......I fall waaaaaay down to probably Type Zzzz....(snore)

And what about gardening and canning and putting up for the future?

And all of these things that I have mentioned are all for me.

What about what Jesus really wants us to do?

 Serve others.

How do I fit that in?

I really struggle with the balance of it all!

Do you?

I have decided that I can make some small changes throughout my day.

Some mornings I may not be able to do my Bible study but I can listen to a Christian radio station on my way to work.

I can slow down and enjoy God's wonderful creation around me as I'm traveling to and from work.

I can pray for others during my 30 minute commute.

I can be an ambassador for God at work.

I know God blessed us with this business and I fully intend to honor Him in it!

I am getting better at these things but I still struggle with balance.

I know I'm living a very selfish life but some days I can barely meet my basic needs.

It's the hours at home that is my biggest struggle.

I definitely waste some of that precious time.

I guess I'm just wondering how you all do it?

Is it a struggle?

Do you have suggestions?

I want to make changes and do more but I also know that I am miserable if I go wide open all the time.

I'm just not built that way.

How do you change your life?

Start new habits and make them stick?

I don't want the next 50 years to be wasted....

so the million dollar question is.....

how do you know what you really want and what must be done to accomplish it?

Here's Your Sign

Do y'all remember this?

Bill Engvall and his "Here's your sign" jokes about stupid things that you do.

Well I've got one for you today....

shocked aren't you (sarcasm)..

Embarrassing work moment #5...........I was paying bills. This particular bill had an "important"

stamp at the bottom of the page and the stamp said.."send remittance to" and then right under that it

 had foreign language

words and a Tennessee address. So I carefully copied the foreign language words and made my

check out to them but I decided I better call and make sure it went to someone with a foreign

language name. So I called the number at the top of the page with the company name not in a foreign

language and I repeated to the girl what was written and I asked was I suppose to send my check to

the foreign language name. I told her the language looked French but I didn't know. I could tell she

was trying to keep from laughing and she said "Well I don't know much Spanish but I do know what

this says....(and I'm already thinking....darn it....got the language wrong) and I ask what does it say?

And she said "Under the words "send remittance to" it says in Spanish.........."send remittance to" so

no...don't write your check to "send remittance to".... Oh I could feel her smiling all the way through

the phone. So I'm sputtering..well you can see how confusing that is and she is saying yes, yes...that

is confusing (smirk).

#Shannonshouldreallyscreenhisemployeesbetter   #theonlylanguageiknowiscountryredneck

The End

Now we can all say it together........

Lisa.....

Here's your sign!!!
