The Yin/Yang of a Perfect Life

 

 

Ahhhhhhh

 

 

Beautiful Spring is here!!

 

You know I am loving my beautiful cherry tree!

 

And all of the blooming flowers!

 

But I decided this time to interject what's not perfect here also

 

in case you thought things were not "Lisa"fied....lol.

 

 

 

and then my dog Breesy comes up.....

 

 

What in the world!!!!

 

Has she been cleaning chimneys????  Working in a coal mine?????

 

Who knows!!!!!

 

 

What a glorious morning!!

 

But instead of enjoying this glorious morning I am on a turkey hunt.

 

Lol.....oh you don't hunt this way????

 

When you hunt you have to have the 3 B's

 

No.......not bullets, boots and box call.......silly

 

Biscuits, books and blanket....:)

 

 

 

Home sweet home....

 

 

And home sweet home is where I should stay because........

 

 

I decide to take my very overweight out of shape body to the gym.

 

First time in years and years!!

 

I'm walking at a pretty good pace (for me) and I could tell it was

 

all kind of wobbly.

 

My back and hip fat was out of sync with my walking pace and

 

right in the middle of my brisk walk the treadmill just shuts down!

 

And starts blinking in big bright letters

 

SAFETY.................SAFETY!!

 

Well I didn't know if it was concerned about my safety or its safety but

 

nevertheless I just picked my dignity off the floor

 

and got out of there as fast as my hips would wobble.

 

So there it is folks......

 

a perfect/not perfect life.......

 

and I'm grateful for all of it!!

 

So smile........:)

 

and look at this beautiful treeeeeeeee!!

Such is life.....embrace it all!

The Purpose of Weeds

I had a great 4th and I hope you did as well.

I posted these photos on face book

"Finally got invited to play with the pros"

and I posted this one..

"Guess who the winning team was!"

And then I posted...

"To finish the day off perfectly college kid made us grilled venison fajitas!"

Do you ever feel guilty when you post good times on face book?

I don't ever want to make people feel bad or to make people think that my life is perfect.

In fact....most people don't know what's really going on in each others lives.

Do they know that this family day together couldn't have come at a better time?

Can they see the lack of sleep circles under our eyes?

I am a very happy person and I have great faith but it doesn't mean that I don't stress out over things.

I try not to but I do.

There is a lot going on with our life right now.

College kid is finishing college and needs a job.

Oldest kid is searching for a home of his own.

Hubby and I are starting all over in our fifties with our career path.

We have a beautiful life but it is filled with weeds!

Yes....I said weeds.

I was working in the yard yesterday and I was thinking of all of these things.

I was already frustrated and then I started working on my flower beds.

 I was mad because weeds were growing everywhere!

Why Lord?

Weeds are ugly.

They are time consuming.

They mess up all of your hard work.

They are frustrating.

They grow in the wrong places at the wrong times.

What is their purpose Lord?

And do you know what answer I got back?

Nothing....

Nada.....

Nilch...

It's not for me to know.

There are things that only God knows.

And apparently what's the purpose of weeds is one of them.

And so is the reason "weeds" are in my life.

Only God knows.

He has a plan for my future......

and if that involves "weeds" in my life then who am I to say they shouldn't be there.

They can be ugly and time consuming and show up at the wrong times and

definitely frustrating but they must have a purpose

because God put them there.

So I need to learn that I don't know all the answers,

I can ask but may never get the answers....

much less the answers that I want.

The best that I can do is trust and lean on the Lord.

Every year there are weeds in my gardens...

But it doesn't mean that my flowers aren't growing also.

So.....

The Potting Shed

Guess what I've been doing?

Besides eating Little Debbie snacks (that's too easy).

I've been working outside!!!

I'm really trying hard not to plant all my flowers or my garden yet.

Oh but I want too!

But do you see that little extension coming off of the coop?

I did that!!

All by myself (puffed up chest and swelled head)...:)

I decided that I needed a potting shed....:)

I made the sign first.

Now the roof part was not pretty.....

I was sweating and fussing and dirty and math challenged but

it's up there!

Because really......did you really think hubby would go for adding 

round thing-a-ma-jigs on the posts because it would look cute?

Or have the brilliant idea of adding bottles to the post like a bottle tree?

I think not!

Only my mind.....my crazy tacky artistic mind....would think of that....:)

And then I found a broken shovel and a funnel and

BAM!

a plant stand!

Now I would be lying if I said I didn't have ANY help....

Rod Stewart was not impressed with the new metal chickens....

"hey....why do you need these when you have me?"

I know Rod....they can't compare to you.

I can't wait until I get to plant flowers and vegetables and 

all the empty beds are filled!!

Be sure and check back soon.

There is no telling what I may have dragged out of the dump

dreamed up by then.

Spring's To Do List

It's here!!!

It's here!!!

Spring is happening around here!

All those days I sat on the couch with a blanket on me saying

"It's just too cold to do anything.....I'll do that later."

Well "later" is here and now I am overwhelmed at the jobs to be done around here.

And in the South Spring may come early but we all know Summer is just around the

corner and it will be toooooo hot to do anything.

So we have this small window of time to get everything in shape.

I start off good but I never get it all done.

And this year I want to garden more than I did last year.

Just add a little more to that "to do" list.

I did clean off the porch yesterday and started restaining it.

The hubby kept saying "it looks so much better......it's clean."

Okay.....point taken not so subtle hubby....I won't add back so much stuff.

But I have to put my red chair back and the side table and the flower pots and......

oh dear....

I found a cute metal flower to put on my red gate....

So that's done.....no wait....I've got to find a finial....

dang it.....

I think I want to find two cute ceramic birds or something like that to put as the finials.

Hubby will be so proud.....:) (not)

The pear trees are blooming and a squirrel is digging in the yard.

 

Rod Stewart is looking over his kingdom.

Note to self.....paint tree bench....

or should I call it

Rod's throne.

So I'm ready....I know you are ready....

don't give up....

Spring is coming....

the only really scary part...

the part that is not ready at all....

is me...

in shorts...

At least a shadow shot doesn't show cellulite...:)

but look at my pea head compared to my body...:(

Oh well....

we'll add that to the list.
